Interviews of hikers who have trekked the Camino de Costa Rica have been extremely popular on the Active Travel Adventures podcast.
Below are all of the ATA Costa Rica Camino interviews, including a two parter of my own Camino experience with fellow ATA listeners in 2022.
Kit’s ATA Group Camino de Costa Rica
A group of sixteen of us trekked from the Caribbean to the Pacific in April of 2022. We made sure to include lots of excursions to add to the flavor of our Costa Rica experience, such as rafting the Pacuare, taking salsa lessons and visiting vaious farms (my favorite was the hydrangea farm!). To get more information about the Costa Rica Camino, go HERE.
Dale, one of the hikers on my own 2022 Camino, wrote a blog about his experience. You can check it out HERE.
UrriTrek – Costa Rica Camino Guided Tour Company
I went with UrriTrek, the leading tour company of the Camino de Costa Rica. They offer ATA listeners a $100 discount if you book using my UrriTrek link.
My next guest, Laurie did a private Camino de Costa Rica with UrriTrek (use my link to save $100).
The couple wanted to make sure that they got a great night’s sleep and so had UrriTrek arrange for lodging in an inn or homestay each night, whereas my group had a couple of nights camping.
They had a great Camino, and you can hear here stories below:
I first learned about this new Camino on Facebook, by accident.
I came across a post by a 70 year old woman named Conchita, who had just completed this new-to-me trail in Costa Rica to commemorate her big birthday.
I reached out to her to ask her to come on the Active Travel Adventures podcast to tell us about the Camino de Costa Rica. Little did I know that Conchita was one of the FOUNDERS of this amazing new coast to coast long distance trail through Costa Rica!
You can hear all about her experience on the Costa Rica Camino, plus some helpful insights about this new trail below.
Other Hiking and Rafting Adventures in Costa Rica
My sister and I went on an adventure in Costa Rica in 2018, where we climbed Costa Rica’s highes mountain, Chirripo (which remains the most difficult hike of my life!), we backpacked stunning mountains and even rafted the famous Pacuare River.
You can ehar about our adventures below and see pics HERE.
